The classic MA-1 Jacket is the standout piece of the BAPE® x Alpha Industries collaboration. These items are crafted to pay tribute to Sashiko, a form of decorative reinforcement stitching (or functional embroidery) from Japan, reimagining both style and aesthetic. Designed with inspirations from Ukiyo-e, a genre of Japanese art that flourished from the 17th through 19th centuries, the back prints on both Kimono Jacket and MA-1 Jacket are beautifully embroidered with graphics of BAPE®’s iconic motifs, ensuring the archival touch. The union of function and fashion that pervades the whole collection is exemplified in the jackets.
